Himanshu Rao Kalvakuntla is a student, emerging entrepreneur and social-impact advocate from Telangana. He is the son of BRS leader K. T. Rama Rao and the grandson of former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Growing up in a family closely associated with public service, Himanshu has developed his own interests in education, artificial intelligence, innovation, entrepreneurship and community development.

Education and Entrepreneurial Interests

Himanshu completed his schooling at Oakridge International School in Hyderabad. He is currently studying Business Administration at Carnegie Mellon University in the United States, with academic and professional interests in business, artificial intelligence, innovation and entrepreneurship.

His educational journey reflects his interest in combining modern technology and business knowledge to develop meaningful ideas and create a positive social impact.

Commitment to Community Service

Himanshu has actively participated in community-service initiatives from a young age.

While serving as president of the Community Action Service program at Oakridge International School, he led an initiative with his classmates and supporting organizations to raise approximately ₹90 lakh for the renovation of the Mandal Parishad Primary School in Keshavanagar, Serilingampally.

The funds were used to improve the school’s infrastructure and provide additional facilities for its students.

Behtar India Recognition

Himanshu received the Gold Medal in the Behtar India “Behtar Vatavaran” category during the 2018–2019 campaign.

He earned the recognition after collecting 29,482 kilograms of recyclable waste, demonstrating his early commitment to environmental protection, recycling and sustainable community action.

The Diana Award

In 2021, Himanshu received the prestigious Diana Award for his social-impact initiative, SHOMA — Making Villages Self-Sustainable.

The initiative focused on supporting rural communities by establishing food-processing facilities that could help provide unadulterated food, create local opportunities and encourage village self-sufficiency.
